The family of former New Orleans anchor Nancy Parker is suing the plane’s owner and the engine manufacturer after it crashed this summer, kiling Parker and the pilot.
According to the lawsuit, the plane carrying Parker on Aug. 16 had a defective engine. The plane took off that day after a delay because of mechanical issues. The pilot, Franklin J.P Augustus, had been cleared for landing when the plane crashed in a field nearby.
The 53-year-old mom of three worked for WVUE for 23 years. She was on assignment doing a story about Augustus’ work as a stunt pilot when she died.
