Fall Takes Dallas Anchor Off The Air

WFAA, Ron Corning, is recovering from a fall that put him in the hospital and took him off the air.

“Yesterday morning during a house tour I wiped out on a slippery concrete deck and came down squarely on my left knee. 911, ambulance, 3 hour surgery, full-length straight-leg cast for 6 weeks, no driving, months of rehab, out of work for the week, all travel cancelled – that’s the long and short of it,” he said in a Facebook post.

Corning, who co-anchors the morning show for the Tegna owned station in Dallas, used social media to post pictures and tell viewers about the accident. He was visiting Santa Fe, New Mexico when it happened.

“Thanks to my friends here who gave up all their plans to see me through this, my WFAA family for their support, and everyone back home who has stepped up to help me when I get back.”

He didn’t say when he will be back to work.
