Eye on Local Content, WMAQ Brings Back Sunday Newscast

Eighteen months ago, WMAQ-Ch. 5 scrapped its Sunday morning local newscasts in response to a budget crunch.

Now the NBC Universal-owned station not only is bringing back those newscasts, it plans to relaunch one of its digital subchannels as Chicago Nonstop with a lineup that includes a video simulcast of WLS-AM 890‘s afternoon program, “The Roe Conn Show with Richard Roeper.”
