Executive Producer Departing WCBS for Bloomberg

By Andrew Gauthier

Gary Kanofsky, a 30-year veteran of TV news, is leaving his position as executive producer at WCBS to join Bloomberg TV in London.

Kanofsky has spent the last two and a half years overseeing WCBS’s 11 p.m. newscast. His final day with the station will be July 8th.

“Bloomberg is a tremendous organization,” Kanofsky told TVSpy, emphasizing his excitement about the company’s plans for growth. He will serve as a senior executive producer for Bloomberg, overseeing the programs produced in London.

Before joining WCBS at the beginning of 2009, Kanofsky spent over a decade with CNBC. After working as a senior producer on a handful of the network’s morning shows, he was appointed director of digital production and broadcast technology, a position that he held for nearly four years.

There is no word yet on WCBS’s search for a successor.
