Erie Weathercaster Joey Stevens Signs Deal with Caribbean Channel

By Andrew Gauthier

After 34 years forecasting Erie, PA, Joey Stevens has signed a new deal to cover the weather of a much different climate: the Caribbean.

In addition to owning WSEE in Erie, Lilly Broadcasting oversees One Caribbean Weather, an all-weather cable station covering the balmy climate of the Caribbean.

Stevens, along with the rest of the WSEE weather team, provides regular forecasts for One Caribbean Weather and now he will focus on the channel full-time.  According to the Erie Times-News, Stevens has signed a new 3-year contract that reduces his local responsibilities, allowing him to focus on sunshine and warm breezes.

Sadly, the new deal doesn’t mean that Stevens will actually move to the Caribbean.  He’ll continue predicting the weather from WSEE’s Erie studio.
