NBC has announced that the entire “Today” show crew will be making their way to Vancouver to broadcast live from the upcoming 2010 Winter Olympics. Matt, Meredith, Al, and Ann will be broadcasting the show live every morning as they did in Beijing for the 2008 Summer Olympics.
This will be only the second time in the show’s history (Beijing being the first) that the entire “Today” A-team will be working together on-location from the Olympics.
Strong ratings for NBC’s coverage of the Beijing Olympics more than justified the $894 million that NBC Universal paid for the American television rights. NBC is certainly hoping to achieve similar success with the Vancouver games but first the “Today” team will have to get used to a 4am Vancouver start time.
