With the Super Bowl looming this weekend, Northwest Broadcasting has decided to temporarily return its stations to DirecTV.
Northwest Broadcasting, which pulled its station’s from DirecTV on January 1st as the two parties could not reach a new retrans deal, has agreed to a four-week cease-fire.
“We’re happy that Northwest granted our request to put the channels back on while we negotiate a deal,” said Dan Hartman, DirecTV’s senior VP of programming, in a statement. “The channels have now been restored and we are looking forward to getting a deal done as quickly as we can.”
DirecTV subscribers in parts of Washington, Oregon, and New York will now be able to enjoy the Super Bowl on Sunday. Northwest stations returning to DirecTV are KAYU in Spokane, KFFX in Yakima, KMVU in Medford, and WICZ in Binghamton.
