Dina Bair Officially Named Mid-Day Anchor at WGN

WGN, the CW-affiliate in Chicago, has officially named Dina Bair the mid-day newscast anchor.

Bair has been filling in on the broadcast for Allison Payne, who suffers from problems with her vocal cords, for most of this year. Payne recently exited WGN, saying her health “had become a burden to the station.”

“Dina has been filling in on this broadcast for several months this year and last,” WGN news director Greg Caputo said in a statement. “During that time, she has shown her ability to be comfortable and engaging in both the hard news segments as well as the feature segments that are a hallmark of the broadcast.”

Bair, who has been with WGN since 1994, will continue as the station’s medical reporter.
