Longtime WABC anchor Diana Williams announced she’s retiring from the station in September after 29 years.

She says after news she will spend more time with family and climbing mountains.

Williams and her family have endured tough times since 2008 and she says it’s made her realize she needs more time with them.

“I am happy to say, Hubs, my son, and my two daughters are all in a good place now. But the journey getting to this point has changed my perspective and I’ve learned that above all “time is a precious commodity,” she wrote.

Williams anchors the stations’ 5 p.m. newscast alongside Lee Goldberg and Sade Baderinwa.

She started at the station as a reporter and worked her way up to the anchor seat.

Williams has been in the broadcasting business for over 40 years.
