WJBK anchor Anqunette Jamison announced Tuesday morning she would retire from the Detroit Fox station after 22 years.
“I loved my job but multiple sclerosis was making it harder and harder to do it,” she said in a Facebook video. “I spent my first year of having MS sicker than I have ever been in my entire life. And then I became a medical marijuana patient.”
Jamison says she will join MILegalize, a group working to legalize marijuana in Michigan. “Even though I won’t be on TV anymore, I am not going away quietly,” she said, noting that marijuana had eased her MS symptoms so profoundly she no longer need to take a number of prescription medications including Adderall, anti-nausea drugs, muscle relaxants and sleeping pills.
