Samantha Mesa has been named co-anchor of Good Morning Iowa for Des Moines ABC affiliate WOI.
Mesa will anchor alongside Chenue Her.
“Samantha has been a solid contributor to our afternoon and evening programs and her experience, passion, and knowledge will now benefit the growth of Good Morning Iowa,” said news director Perry Pace.
The station also announced that Laryssa Leone will be the station’s new weekend anchor.
“Being raised in Iowa I’ve grown to love and appreciate not only the beauty of the state but the beauty of the people,” said Leone. “Telling the stories of Iowans, to me, is about showing how hardworking, kind, and diverse the people of our state are.”
Before joining WOI, Mesa worked at KVEO in Brownsville, Texas. She’s also worked at WHAM in New York and KRIS in Corpus Christi, Texas before that.
Leone joined the station last year as a reporter after working as a multimedia journalist and photographer at KETV in Omaha, Nebraska.
