Des Moines, Iowa CBS affiliate KCCI has promoted three of its journalists to new roles starting in January
Weekend morning anchor Scott Carpenter (pictured left) will move to weekdays as an additional anchor covering news and traffic. Carpenter joined KCCI in December 2020.
Reporter Nicole Tam (right) will anchor weekend mornings and become KCCI’s first anchor of Asian-American heritage. She joined the station in March 2022.
Reporter Amanda Rooker (center) has been named chief political reporter. Rooker joined KCCI in July 2021.
“Great journalism starts with great storytellers. These talented journalists will cover the stories that matter to people in central Iowa,” said KCCI news director Allison Smith.
“These promotions have been earned through service and hard work,” said KCCI president and general manager Brian Sather. “I join my colleagues across KCCI in congratulating these team members. Their dedication represents our continuing mission to be Iowa’s News Leader.”
