Departing WNBC Reporter Tim Minton: ‘The Business is Really Undergoing a Revolution’

By Andrew Gauthier

Veteran reporter Tim Minton has left WNBC on his own terms.

Minton departed WNBC on January 7th after 12 years with the NBC flagship.  He tells TVSpy sister site FishbowlNY that the move was two years in the making.

Amid WNBC’s reinvention of itself over the last few years, Minton decided that it was time for him to pursue opportunities in journalism beyond local TV news.

“The business is really undergoing a revolution. It’s bigger than just a few little lurches in one direction or another,” Minton told FishbowlNY.

“I want to produce different types of content… and I want to have a role in managing it.”
