Denver news fixture Tom Mustin has been let go from KCNC-TV, the CBS affiliate in the market.
Mustin confirmed his leaving on social media, saying the decision to go was not his.
“Thank you all for your kind words and posts. To set the record straight, leaving CBS4 was NOT my decision. I was simply told that due to budget cuts, my position was being eliminated,” he said in a Facebook post.
Mustin had been with Channel 4 for 15 years as an anchor-reporter. He was moved off the morning show in 2014.
TVSpy has reached out to the station for comment.
Mustin was also a professor at a local college.
Thank you all for your kind words and posts. To set the record straight, leaving @CBS4 was NOT my decision. I was simply told my position was being eliminated. It’s been a privilege delivering the news in #Denver for 16 years. Hope to see you all again soon.
