KDVR reporter Michael Konopasek is leaving TV news after nearly 12 years to work for the airlines.

“LIFE UPDATE: After 12 years in TV news, it’s time for a new challenge! I’ve accepted an offer to serve as Corporate Communications Manager at Denver-based Frontier Airlines,” Konopasek wrote on Twitter.  “Thanks to friends and family for supporting me in this process. My last day at @KDVR will be May 23rd.”

Before joining KDVR in 2016, he worked at KING in Seattle and at KWTV in Oklahoma City.

He told TVSpy he’s leaving the industry because, “The new job will allow for better work/life balance. I think the pandemic has people in all industries thinking about the desire for potential change in their lives. I am no exception.”
