Fallon, who will take over “The Tonight Show” in February, was in town for his “Clean Cut Comedy Tour” when he stopped by the Denver NBC Affiliate. According to the station, he popped a button off his jacket and Arakawa, who the station said “is pretty handy with a needle and thread,” sewed it back on for him.

>UPDATE: Arakawa told TVSpy, “As part of a totally adlibbed bit, he took off running across the studio to ‘go write some jokes,’ and literally dove across the desktop part of the news set. He snagged his jacket button, which went flying off somewhere.”

She said after the shoot, she sewed the errant button back on, he said “thanks!” then left for his show at the Denver Center of the Performing Arts.
