Demonstrators Damage KPIX News Van

What CBS owned San Francisco station KPIX described as “an initially peaceful” protest over the weekend, turned violent.

Protestors, demanding justice for Michael Brown, first attempted to disrupt the Union Square tree lighting ceremony, before vandalizing stores in the area and attacking police officers in the Mission District. KPIX reports some of the protestors broke the windshield of one their news vans and threw a flare inside.

KPIX Said the crew weren’t near the van at the time of the incident.
