DC Station Launches News Anchored From Richmond

Tribune’s Washington, D.C. CW affiliate WDCW is launching a 30-minute 10 p.m. newscast on Monday, April 18.

The station’s only local newscast will be anchored by Candace Burns, meteorologist Zach Daniel and sports anchor Lane Casadonte from Richmond, Va., CBS affiliate WTVR. WDCW will have a team of local reporters, MMJs, photographers and editors in Washington, D.C.

“Tribune Media has a long and deep-rooted history of being at the forefront of excellence in broadcast news coverage, ” said Vince Giannini, svp and GM of WDCW. “Our company is extraordinarily excited to bring a local nightly 30-minute 10 p.m. newscast to the Washington, D.C. market.”
