In February 2013, Ciliberti was charged with DWI after he was pulled over for drifting out of his lane and running a red light. He was driving a station vehicle at the time and was not fired after his arrest.
“We are pleased to name a journalist as talented and experienced as David to be our news director,” said Kenneth Freedman, WCMH vice president and general manager. “He is a strong leader with a passion for news; that combined with his competitive spirit make him a great fit to lead our news team at this critical time.”
“I am excited and honored to join the talented journalists at WCMH and look forward to continuing the great legacy WCMH has represented,” Ciliberti said in a statement. “As the business of news gathering and distribution transforms onto many platforms, I look forward to working with our team to serve Central Ohio; bringing our community content that is relevant, illuminating and engaging.”
Ciliberti starts his new position on February 23.
