Friday was reporter Jeff Smith‘s last day at Dallas-Fort Worth NBC-owned station KXAS.
“Jeff is making the move to Israel for a variety of reasons,” news director Mark Ginther told Dallas media blogger Ed Bark. “One of them is the dream of becoming a foreign correspondent. He’s a good, hard-working reporter. It’s a real loss for us, but I’m happy he’s pursuing his dream.”
“I’m making “Aliyah”–immigrating to Israel, and charting a new journey,” Smith tweeted. “Thanks for all your support, Texas!”
Smith has worked at KXAS since January 2013. He’s also worked at WSOC in Charlotte, N.C., KOTV in Tulsa, Okla. and WLNS in Lansing, Mich.
