According to the Dallas ABC affiliate, Shipp uncovered a recruiting scandal that included several Dallas coaches and administrators who were then fired. Two of those fired were relatives of Dallas Kimball coach Royce “Snoop” Johnson. Johnson, then went after Shipp on twitter.

“You went at me which is cool, but when you go after my family [sic] lights out!” Snoop Johnson tweeted Friday evening hours after news broke of the mass firings. “Now I’m coming for you. I fear none of you.”

In another tweet, Royce Johnson posted: “Let’s go! I’m not waiting for you to come for me. I’m coming.”

[Dallas Independent School District] did not comment on Snoop Johnson’s termination Tuesday. On Monday, DISD spokesman Jon Dahlander released this statement about Coach Johnson’s tweets.

“Dallas ISD has high expectations for staff. Staff members’ behavior, both in school and out, sets an example for our students. Our students need positive role models and not examples that promote violence or bullying behavior. Staff members who violate these expectations will be held responsible for their actions.”
