The Chicago Cubs’ trip to the World Series for the first time in 71 years has benefitted the city’s Fox-owned station WFLD, which is airing the games.
More than 1.4 million households tuned in to watch the Cubs hold on to beat the Cleveland Indians Sunday night. Game Five of the World Series delivered a 42.8 Household rating while the WFLD Sunday Night news got a 19.8.
That rating is only second to Super Bowl 50 which got a 47.6 household rating for CBS-owned WBBM in Chicago.
