Cathy Gunther has been promoted from general sales manager to vp and general manager of Tulsa, Oklahoma Fox and MyTV affiliate KOKI-KMYT.
She also led Cox Local Solutions, the full service digital agency serving Tulsa and Oklahoma City. She succeeds Greg Bilte who is the vp and GM at CMG’s KIRO in Seattle.
“Cathy is a proven leader, and I’m thrilled that we have such phenomenal internal talent like Cathy to step into this critical leadership position in Tulsa,” said CMG evp of Television Jane Williams. “She knows the Tulsa team and market extremely well, and I know she will build upon the momentum she and the team have created over the last several years to super serve the Tulsa community with news, weather, entertainment and valuable business opportunities.”
Gunther worked at then Cox Media Group-owned KTVU in Oakland, Calif. and KICU in San Jose, Calif. She’s also worked as digital sales manager for Cowles California Media Group and served as director of new technology and later as local sales manager at KCOY-KKFX in Santa Maria-Santa Barbara, Calif.
