Michelle Harper has been named general sales manager for Charlotte, N.C. ABC affiliate WSOC.
Harper has been the GSM for WSOC’s sister station WAXN since 2011. She started her career in news at WTVD in Raleigh-Durham, before moving to TV sales in 1989 at WJZY in Charlotte. She joined WSOC for the first time in 1993, leaving in 1995 to work at Seltel in Atlanta, Ga. She came back to local TV to work at WXLV-WUPN in Greensboro, N. C. and later joined WTWB in Greensboro in 2000 as GSM before returning to WTVD as national sales manager.
