The Memphis FOX station that recently went from FOX to Cox ownership has a new GM. Paul Briggs was named by Cox Media Group as VP and GM of WHBQ effective immediately.
Briggs was the general sales manager at Cox’s Charlotte, N.C. ABC affiliate WSOC.
“We are thrilled that we can tap such phenomenal internal talent like Paul for this important leadership position at one of our newest TV brands,” Cox EVP of Television Jane Williams said in a statement. “Paul will play a pivotal role in leading the professionals at WHBQ-TV and to continue informing, inspiring, entertaining and improving the Memphis community.”
