Michelle Harper has been named vp of sales for Cox Media Group.
She takes over for Paul Curran who was named gm of Cox’s WFTV in Orlando. She was the general sales manager at WSOC in Charlotte, N.C. and will work with all CMG newspaper, radio and TV brands “to develop and execute strategic sales programs and training.”
“It is such an exciting time in our industry as collaboration becomes more vital to driving results for our customers,” said Harper. “I feel so fortunate to be with a company and in a role that will allow me to continue to help develop strategies and provide innovative solutions.”
She got her broadcast start in news at WTVD in 1985 and moved over to sales four years later. She’s also worked as an account executive at WJZY and WSOC, before working for Seltel in Atlanta. She started working with Cox in 2011, when she was hired as the gsm for WAXN in Charlotte.
