The station did a story about a viewer who didn’t have enough money to remove a tree that had fallen into her fence and looked like it might hit her grandson’s bedroom. Minutes after the story ran, viewers began calling in with offers to help.
“I started getting a panic attack because I’m on low income, so I mean I don’t have no money for someone to come and do it,” said KRIS viewer Alicia Ramirez.
Some viewers took it one step further by volunteering to go and chop down the tree themselves.
“I want to say thank you and my prayers go out to all of y’all,” says Ramirez.
