Colorado Springs Reporter Loses Battle With Kidney Disease

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

Colorado Springs reporter Dustin Cuzick ran out of time while waiting for a kidney.

The 36-year-old investigative reporter for KKTV died after fighting a long battle against kidney disease.

Colorado Springs Reporter Continues Wait for Kidney Donor” rel=”noopener” target=”_blank”>TVSpy first reported on Cuzick’s condition in April. He was on dialysis 11 hours a day plus three hours a day at work. Last Summer, the hospital where he was being treated cancelled its transplant program so Cuzick had to wait even longer for a donor.

“I’m on dialysis right now and there are some people on dialysis for a very long time, but every day you’re on dialysis, every year you’re on dialysis, your odds of surviving get worse. It’s not good. So it is a matter of time. So it’s upsetting to know I’ve lost that time,” Cuzick said at the time.

Cuzick died last week. He was a reporter for the CBS affiliate for 10 years.
