Colbert Gets Post Super Bowl Show on CBS

CBS affiliates rejoice! Super ratings may not fade so fast after February’s Super Bowl.

CBS says The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will air immediately following the 50th edition of America’s excuse to eat everything in sight. The show will be the first ever late night series to air in the post Super Bowl slot.

After Colbert, the affiliates have a chance to air their local news and then CBS will air The Late Late Show with James Corden.

“It’s been a very big year in late night at CBS,” said Glenn Geller, president of CBS Entertainment. “We’re extremely proud of our two new late night franchises, and we’re thrilled to give Stephen and James this big Super Bowl Sunday showcase.”

The Super Bowl airs on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016.
