Coby Cooper is set to take the reigns at WCIA and WCEN in Champaign, Illinois. Nexstar Broadcasting Group has named Cooper VP-GM of the CBS and MyNetworkTV stations in DMA 84.
“Coby brings almost three decades of television broadcast operation and management experience to our Champaign operations,” said Nexstar Senior VP-Regional Manager Rick Rogala.

Cooper held the same position at Nexstar’s WMBD in Peoria, IL as well as the Sinclair-owned Peoria station WYZZ. In accepting the Nexstar promotion, Colby said that he was excited “to help further and enhance our leadership position in Central Illinois and the state capital region.”
