WKYC, the Tegna station in Cleveland, has hired a new meteorologist who already has a considerable following on TikTok.

Matt Standridge has joined WKYC from its sister station in Fayetteville, Ark.

In introducing Standridge to viewers, morning anchor Betsy Kling shared that Standridge is making his mark on TikTok, where some of his videos have gotten close to a million views. Standridge—known as @weathermanmatt on the video platform—has attracted nearly 260,000 followers for his weather-centric TikToks. His videos have been liked more than 6 million times.

He’ll do the weather on the 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. shows from home, and joins Lynna Lai, Andrew Horansky and sports anchor Nick Camino.

Standridge, who starts at WKYC this week, will also launch an adventure segment on the station.
