Cincinnati’s WXIX Gets a New Newsroom

wxix ribbon cutting ceremonyCincinnati Fox affiliate WXIX opened its new newsroom in a ceremony Tuesday.

Staffers had been working in the basement for six months while the new facility, which includes 15 monitors that show the Cincinnati local stations as well as the cable news networks, was built.

“This space was designed to make our news gathering machine more efficient, and candidly more competitive,” WXIX general manager Bill Laneseysaid during the ribbon-cutting ceremony. “…We feel the space will give us a leg up as we compete and, in turn, navigate the increasingly-important digital space.” [h/t Cincinnati Enquirer]
