Cincinnati Reporter Asks Viewers to ‘Like’ Him So He Can Adopt Shelter Dog

By Kevin Eck

WKRC reporter John Gumm took to his facebook page to accept his wife’s challenge of trading ‘likes’ for a new dog.

The reporter for the Cincinnati CBS affiliate wrote on his page,  “We have a Bichon Frise at home who is 15. I want another. My wife isn’t convinced. She says if I can get 10,000 likes by the end of today I can adopt this friendly guy from my friends at SPCA Cincinnati. I’m in love. Help me out!”

Even though Gumm had 12, 367 likes as of this writing, this did not have a happy ending for Gumm. The dog was adopted before he could get to the SPCA.

“I am so happy for the family who adopted him and hope they give him lots of love and I hope he gives them as much love as we have received from our 15 year old Bichon Calvin (pictured here)!,” wrote Gumm on a later facebook post. “That said, we will be looking to add another shelter or rescue dog to our home.”
