Christy Kern will join WIVB as primary anchor of the Buffalo CBS affiliate’s new 4 p.m. newscast.

“We’re happy to welcome Christy back home to Buffalo and the News 4 team,” said Scott Levy. “She has strong ties to Western New York, which will prove to be an asset to our growing news operation.”

This is the second addition to WIVB this week. Earlier, we told you Nick Quattrini was joining as a reporter.

Kern, who was married in December and changed her name from Andrews, makes her debut on Monday, March 28, the day WIVB launches its hourlong 4 p.m. news.

Kern comes from WBBH in Fort Myers, Fla.
