Chris Hurst Back On-Air at WDBJ

By Kevin Eck

Chris Hurst returned to the anchor desk for Roanoke, Va. CBS affiliate WDBJ last night.

Hurst is the boyfriend of Alison Parker who, along with photojournalist Adam Ward , was murdered while doing a live report for the station on August 26. He took time off after the murders.

“I can tell you the healing has begun,” Hurst told viewers during last night’s 6:00 p.m. newscast. “I have been away from you– healing with those Alison loved the most and meeting new friends from places like Newtown and Aurora. Through many many tears and questions, there have been laughs, smiles and answers. I know the answer to what we all must do. It is to profess love, not hate. Love one another and love strangers. ”

He ended by saying, “I will always remember to have the serenity to accept the things I cannot change. I have the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to MAKE a difference.”
