The ABC station in Chicago is down four employees today after a coronavirus scare.
According to Robert Feder, four WLS employees were kept home on Tuesday out of concern that they might have been exposed to the virus.
The station confirmed the action was taken “out of an abundance of caution” after a reporter and photographer did an interview at a Chicago-area hosptial where a coronavirus patient was being treated. A second photographer with the station later shook hands with the first photog, during an apparent shift change. He was told not to come to work. The wife of the first photographer, who is also employed at the station, was offered the opportunity to stay home and she did.
All those employees are waiting for the person who was interviewed to be tested for COVID-19 before returning to work. None of the names of the employees have been released.
