Chester Lampkin, a weekend meteorologist for KSDK, has announced that he’s leaving the St. Louis NBC affiliate after three years at the station.
Lampkin told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that he’s got a new gig– all the way in New Zealand! Lampkin will be a meteorologist for MetService, which he says is akin to our National Weather Service.
“I’ll be one of their broadcast meteorologists, and I start sometime in June,” Lampkin told the Post-Dispatch. “Sad to leave STL. It’s my hometown.”
Lampkin told the paper that he may pop up on the air a few more times at KSDK, “but I am basically done.”
Prior to joining KSDK, Lampkin was chief meteorologist at CBS affiliate KRCG in Jefferson City, Mo.
