Cheryl Fair has been tapped as successor to Arnie Kleiner as president and GM of Los Angeles ABC owned station KABC.

Fair has been VP and news director of KABC for 20 years. An ABC press release said Fair “[…] is known for her successful track record in broadcast, digital, and social media, as well as for identifying emerging talent and developing them into key players.”

She worked at WPVI in Philadelphia for 20 years before coming to KABC. She started her career at KDKA in 1973 as a producer and writer.

“Widely respected in the industry and by all of her colleagues at KABC, Cheryl has been key to the continued success of ABC7,” said Rebecca Campbell, president of the ABC Owned Television Station Group. “Her internal knowledge of Channel 7 and the L.A. market makes her the perfect choice to take the reins at KABC.”
