Billie Jean Shaw is returning to WIS as an anchor/reporter.
“I’m so excited to be coming home to WIS!” said Shaw. “Being away from Columbia these past few years showed me just how special the WIS-TV family is. I can’t wait to reconnect with my old contacts and to cover the stories of my hometown.”
Shaw, who rejoins WIS on Aug. 2, left the Columbia, N.C. NBC affiliate in 2017 to work at WCNC in Charlotte.
“Billie Jean is already a trusted voice in South Carolina and a critical addition to our newsroom” said WIS news director Brad Hyatt. “Her deep ties to the community will make WIS even better and we are looking forward to her return.”
“Four years ago, we were sad to see Billie Jean leave us for Charlotte,” said WIS vp and gm Lyle Schulze. “Today we are beyond happy to see her return. She knows this market and more importantly the people. Billie Jean brings the dedication, passion, and commitment that our viewers demand. We’re glad she’s decided to return home.”
