Charlamagne tha God Defends Mississippi Anchor After She Repeated Snoop Dogg Line On-Air

Lenard Larry McKelvey, better known as Charlamagne tha God questioned the recent decision of Jackson, Miss., station WLBT to take anchor Barbie Bassett off the air after she quoted Snoop Dogg live on the air in early March.

On a recent episode of his radio show The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne and co-host DJ Envy talked about Bassett who, has not been seen on-air since she said the phrase “Fo shizzle, my nizzle,” while talking about Snoop Dogg‘s line of wine.

According to The New York Post, Bassett even tweeted the phrase in 2011. The term “nizzle” is often used as slang for the n-word.

“She can’t say, ‘Fo shizzle, my nizzle?’ Oh, I guess cause nizzle is a derivative of the N-word,” Charlamagne said. “I’m saying that in context. I didn’t mean to say… I’m not using that word.”

“I don’t know if that’s fireable,” said DJ Envy.

“She might be old,” said Charlamagne. “She probably has no idea nizzle is a derivative of the N-word.”

“She’s probably a Snoop fan,” said Envy.

“That’s not a fireable offense. I hope she sues,” Charlamagne said.
