Changes at KSL as Tanya Vea is Named EVP of News

By Chris Ariens

Tanya Vea, who spent four years as news director of Salt Lake City’s KUTV, has been named EVP of news and cross-platform development at rival KSL.

Vea joined KSL last year as head of program development for the Mormon-church owned Deseret Management. In that job she oversaw original programming for KSL-TV and radio.

Vea’s promotion in the news department means Con Psarras will move to head of editorial and special projects for KSL.

The changes come as once dominant KSL tied for the lead with KUTV in November’s late news ratings.

“The goal is how to take these businesses that are in trouble all over the country and redefine them and build something that is forward-looking instead of backword-looking,” Vea told The Salt Lake Tribune.
