Changes Ahead for Fort Wayne NBC Station

By Kevin Eck

Quincy Media’s Fort Wayne, Indiana NBC affiliate WISE is being acquired by SagamoreHill of Indiana as of August 1, but the NBC affiliation is staying with Quincy.

The Fort Wayne NBC affiliate will be known as Fort Wayne’s NBC and will air on a digital subchannel of Quincy’s ABC affiliate WPTA.

In addition to the station losing its call letters on Monday and moving to digital subchannel 21.2, it is adding a morning and an evening anchor.

Pauleen Le is joining Fort Wayne, Indiana NBC affiliate WISE as a morning anchor.

“After some much needed time off with family and friends, I’m headed back to the tube as morning anchor for NBC33 in Fort Wayne, Indiana!” Le wrote on Facebook. “It’s a brand new morning show and I’m super excited for the challenge!”

She last worked at WLUK in Green Bay, Wisc. She’s also worked at WKBT in LaCrosse, Wisc.

The station has also hired Tom Powell as as evening news anchor.

Powell comes from Quincy’s WSJV in South Bend where he has anchored for five years.

“I take tremendous pride in taking an enthusiastic and energetic approach to news gathering each and every day,” said Powell.

He started his career as reporter at KSFY in Sioux Falls, S.D. He went on to work at WREG in Memphis, Tennessee before working at WSJV.
