Sara Horowitz, an El Paso chef who has competed on two reality TV cooking shows, has been accused of allegedly assaulting her boyfriend Mark Mathis, meteorologist for the El Paso NBC affiliate KTSM.
According to police, Mathis filed a report alleging Horowitz punched and kicked him during an argument. The El Paso Times says the argument started after the two came back from a trip to Austin.
Mathis alleged Horowitz punched his right eye, breaking his glasses and causing a small scrape above the eye. Officers noted in their report Mathis also had “small scrapes and bruises” on his legs, some bruising behind his right ear and swelling on the right side of his upper lip.

Mathis, who told police he had been dating Horowitz “on and off” for a year, declined to press charges. However, a Texas law allows prosecutors to file charges against someone accused of family violence.
Horowitz placed second on Gordon Ramsay’s cooking show “Hell’s Kitchen” and has appeared on the Food Network. Most recently, she was Justin Bieber’s personal chef on his current tour.
