CBS Newspath Gets New Boss

CBS Newspath has a new leader. Marsha Cooke has been named vp of News Services for CBS News.

Cooke, who has worked at CBS News since 1993, replaces Kurt Davis as head of CBS Newspath. Davis was named evp of Affiliate Relations for the CBS Television Network in April.

“Newspath needs to be the most competitive affiliate newsfeed, maintain excellent client relationships, and look for digital opportunities wherever possible,” said CBS News president David Rhodes. “Marsha’s career as a manager from Beijing to the broadcast center—and her recent experience at CBSN—make her the ideal colleague to continue these priorities as an executive.”

Cooke was executive editor of Content at CBSN, the 24/7 digital streaming news network for CBS News and was senior broadcast producer for the CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley before that. She’s also worked as CBS News Asia Bureau Chief, as a CBS News producer in Tokyo and Beijing and as a producer for the CBS Evening News with Dan Rather. She started at CBS News in the Los Angeles bureau.
