CBS New York reporter Brian Conybeare is trading the Big Apple for South Bend, Indiana.
The Weigel Broadcasting owned ABC affiliate, WBND, announced Conybeare’s return to the anchor desk alongside Colleen Bormann for the 5, 5:30, 6 and 11pm shows. This is a homecoming for Conybeare who is from Indiana.
“It’s been an honor to cover important news stories in and around New York City, but my heart has always remained in Michiana. I look forward to coming home, joining ABC57 News and helping its talented team tell the stories that really matter to local families and communities,” Conybeare said.
He steps into his new role in January.
“What impresses you about Brian is not all the awards and the amazing experience he has, it’s how he connects with people on a truly compassionate level to tell their stories,” said Aaron Ramey , the general manager of WBND-WCWW-WMYS.
Conybeare has been a reporter for WCBS since 2015. Prior to that he served as a special advisor on the new NY Bridge Project and was an anchor-managing editor at News 12 Westchester.
