Catching Up with TV News Trailblazer Al Primo, the Inventor of ‘Eyewitness News’

TVSpy sister site FishbowlNY caught up with TV news visionary Al Primo (far right) recently and discussed how he came up with the idea for “Eyewitness News” and where he thinks the business is heading.

Primo on the Philadelphia market:
“Philadelphia was a big tryout city for Broadway in those days… You can do pretty much anything you want in Philadelphia and nobody notices.”

On WABC’s famous expose on the Willowbrook State School:
“I’m very proud of that story, that we broke, and kept it on the air… and forever changed the way mentally challenged people are treated in America.”

On the future of TV news:
