Carey Peña, a longtime anchor for Phoenix’s KTVK, has decided to leave the independent station. Peña, currently co-anchor of “Good Evening Arizona” at 9:00 and 10:00 p.m. and host of “Politics Unplugged,” has worked at KTVT since 1998.
Peña announced the news on Facebook last night, writing:
After many positive discussions with management, we were not able to reach an agreement on contract terms and so, the time has come to move on. I would like to thank Ed and Leona for their efforts…

She went on to thank her loyal viewers who have “quite literally, watched me grow up.” Peña told her Facebook fans that she’s looking forward to taking a break, spending time with family for the holidays and that she’s “excited to see what the future holds.”
No word yet on who will replace her.
