It has been nearly 10 years since Wendy Chioji got the news that would change her life.

But breast cancer had a curious effect on the former TV newscaster.

Instead of worrying and fretting, Chioji looked at cancer through a different lens–and vowed to start a new chapter in her life. So after undergoing a partial mastectomy and chemotherapy, Chioji quit her job and headed for Park City, Utah, to coach triathletes and explore the outdoorsy life.
