Belo Corp. has chosen Broadcast Interactive Media as its website technology provider. Belo will launch 18 enhanced Web sites for its local television stations on the BIM platform, which are slated to go live by the end of the year.
“Belo is excited about the new partnership with BIM and the enhanced functionality BIM’s technology will bring to our users,” said Kathy Clements, Belo’s senior vice president/Television Operations.
Belo owns and operates 20 television stations and their associated Web sites and is one of the nation’s largest publicly-traded television companies, with 2008 annual revenue of $733 million. The company joins Fisher Communications and Granite Broadcasting Corporation, among others, in employing Broadcast Interactive Media’s “revenue-focused approach to site development,” as Clements describes it.
