Brett Thomas is joining Media General’s Fort Wayne, Ind. CBS affiliate WANE as evening co-anchor.
Thomas leaves Media General’s Grand Rapids, Mich. NBC affiliate WOOD after 17 years, to join Heather Herron as anchor of the 5:00, 6:00 and 11:00 pm. news on WANE.

Said Thomas, “I am embarking on an exciting new career opportunity that allows me to leave the 2:45 a.m. alarm behind, work at an equally impressive station in Fort Wayne and join my friend and colleague Heather Herron on the evening anchor desk.”
He started at WOOD in 1998 and started anchoring in the mornings in 2005. His last day will be Friday, June 12.
